Endhiran (Tamil) has set the box office on fire in the South and Overseas. The Hindi version Robot managed average business in circuits like Mumbai and CP Berar but flopped in Delhi, Punjab and Bengal. The approx expected lifetime figures for the film are as follows.
Endhiran (Tamil)
Distributor Share – 90 crore
Nett – 125 crore
Gross – 130 crore
Robo (Telugu)
Distributor Share – 25 crore
Nett – 40 crore
Gross – 43 crore
Robot (Hindi)
Distributor Share – 10 crore
Nett – 21.50 crore
Gross – 29 crore
The combined totals will be 125 crore distributor share (record for Indian film), 186.50 crore nett and 202 crore gross.
Endhiran (Tamil) will do $11m (49 crore) overseas with $5.5 million from Far East, $2.5 from North America, $1.5 million from Middle East and $1.5 million from the rest of the world.
The Hindi and Telugu versions of Endhiran will add another $1m from overseas.
The final worldwide gross total of all versions of the film will be INR 255.50 crore ($57.5 million). Worldwide they are the second highest figures ever for an Indian film after Three Idiots which did INR 339.50 crore ($74.5 million). Dabangg released earlier this year is third as it grossed INR 212 crore ($47 million). Three Idiots was released on 1800 prints worldwide, Dabangg was 2000 prints while the Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions of Endhiran had a combined total of 2500 prints worldwide.
The only black spot for the film was the Hindi version which accounted for 800 prints but did not give a return like the other versions. In India Robot (Hindi) was 750 prints which was far too much as dubbed films do not have a big market. Last year the dubbed version of 2012 (Pralay Ki Shuruaat) was released on just 400 prints and grossed 28 crore nett and remains the highest grossing dubbed film. Robot (Hindi) is second on the list of dubbed films but release was more like outright Hindi film rather than a dubbed film.

Sir agree, but tamil nadu figures are wrong , as the theaters in Tamil nadu 1st week to 3rd week the never issue the ticket at counter rate for especially super star movies and the rate always flat vary from 150 to 200 Rs, by that robot collected 325 crores in tamil nadu itself, that is real strength of Rajni. If you have doubt come to rana release just visit one suburb theater u will accept the truth. Some time they use show movie prior day of release itself for which they sell tickets at Rs.1000 to 2000 for which rajni fans are always raedy to buy. As they prefer lways FDFS.

we all know ghajini week 1 net is 65 cr and week 2 is 30 cr in india. two week total is 95 cr net. as per BOI tax is 25%, then gross for 2 week is 126 cr in india. overseas 2 week gross is 20 cr. Then total worldwide total is 146 cr. Then why the producers told it is 200 cr after 2 weeks.

BOI follows actual numbers. Plain and Simple. Dabangg did more business in northern and western India compared to South and East India. Except South India, all have very high entertainment tax. Some states have as high as 40% and some have 20% while Tamil Nadu has only 10-12% Entertainment Tax. While Single Screens has to pay more entertainment tax, multiplex has to pay less.
Hence, 75% for Dabangg is appropriate considering that majority of business has come from North and West India and Single Screens too contributed big chunk of revenue for Dabangg.
About Ghajini, these all are producers numbers. Producers or their some sources even said that Endhiran had grossed 200 crores on its opening day! Hence, producers or distributors numbers are never taken seriously. They will exaggerate in order to get more after-release revenues. Hope it solves your dilemma.

Indian Gross – 155 Crores
Overseas Gross – 34.5 Crores
Worldwide Gross – 189.5 Crores
Ghajini never grossed 200 Crores in its life-time, let alone 2 weeks.

Another salvo from the producers – Sun Pictures officially announced Rs. 225 crore collections. This week, it has reached Rs. 318 crore but in the coming weeks, the figures will remain almost the same and is expected to reach Rs. 400 crore.
It will not be surprising, if the film grosses Rs. 500 crore even though that is a little too far but the film is going strong even without much of Diwali releases.

There is nothing like hating south/north/east/west. Media always exaggerate the figures. I guess by now you must have realized that how Endhiran’s collections were tooted at 200 cr. on first day itself. In two weeks it crossed 300 cr. and later again some reports came of 200 cr. gross. If only media had been the criteria than nobody would bother to read the numbers we provide. Even some part of media were reporting it will cross Avatar’s worldwide gross!!! Its real shame that media has been playing this role to bully innocent audience.
Anyways, the numbers given are actual numbers which are different than hypothetical ones given by some parts or large parts of media.

BOI is always biased towards Khan movies especially SRK. When Dhoom2 & Krish made big money, they downplayed with irrarational arguements. They did the same with Endhiran. Their point was In TN, most of the theatres chrages only Rs10 per ticket. They must be smoking.

There is somethin calle dentertainment tax which huge in the north compared to the south as the govt down south is giving relaxation on this too. This draws more ppl into theatres.
FYI Enthiran was to be starred by my super starnSRK. He missed tht oppurtunity and then felt bad and he too wanted to do a superhuman movie after the eura enthiran had created. He wanted to prove something more and big and he increased the budget by 5 c 🙂
But the end result we all know which rang the bells 🙂
Enthiran is the first SUPERHUMAN movie from south india , and it created a super huge mark on the indian filmdom. Also it made a collection of 12 crores in north india.{record break}
But in hindi Ra 1 is not the first SUPERHUMAN movie.You had Krishh Koi mil Gaya and lot more .More than tht it had SRK in it but still it was a big time flop.

Please dont get bullied by the media reports which considers more of masala than a news. The figures as expected are always exaggerated. Some of the articles are such that the authors do not have any clue of what is difference between Gross/Net/DS. Such articles can be printed and their is no authenticity to check the figures, as the basic aim is to get maximum hits, resulting into more revenues through advertisements. Finally when the dust settles down, they will come up the figures as reported here. You should have understood by now that media reports are basically very good PR exercise or to sensationalize.
