Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap showed improvement on Saturday as it grossed around 2 crore nett taking its two day total to near 3.25 crore nett.

Multiplexes showed good improvement at most places but problem is the start base to low and the film will have to show huge jump on Sunday and even then it will not be even a decent weekend.

The film hopes are dependent on the weekdays and if it can do good on the weekdays then maybe at the end of the first week it could have half decent collections for week one.

Delhi Belly has a good first day of around 6.25-6.50 crore nett propelled by business in big cities. The film fared extremely well in places like Mumbai city, Pune, Delhi NCR, Chandigarh, Kolkata and Bangalore.

Bangalore was extremely strong as Mysore recorded 39 lakhs nett business which is close to the Ready figure of 44 lakhs on the first day.

The business in places like CP Berar, CI, Rajasthan and Bihar is average, But even here the Super Hit music of the film has meant the film has got footfalls initially as normally these type of films record very low collections in these circuits.

It remains to be seen how the film goes over the weekend as reports are mixed with a section of the audience loving it while another section is not so keen on it. The weekend business will depend on strong the urban centres remain.

Delhi Belly opened superbly well at urban centres but was not strong elsewhere. The opening day was 75% plus in theatres of places like Delhi and Chandigarh but 40% at cinemas of CI and Rajasthan. It remains to be seen if the film can keep this pace up as film hold limited appeal for families.

Bbuddah Hoga Teraa Baap opened poorly to around 20% and some single screens did have slight pick up but not enough to make much of a difference. The film should earn due to non theatrical returns but more importantly the box office will struggle.

Transformers 3 opened on Tuesday with paid previews and the business till Thursday including paid previews was nearly 4 crore nett. The film is faring pretty well.

Double Dhamaal had a good first week of 36.50 crore nett mainly due to its strong weekend. The collections were down on the weekdays and friday has also seen a heavy fall. The film is unlikely to touch 45 crore nett business despite superb start. ABOVE AVERAGE

Ready added another 3 crore nett taking its four week business close to 119 crore nett. BLOCKBUSTER

Delhi Belly Opens Very Well

Delhi Belly has opened very well this morning with collections on average around 70% at multiplexes. In Delhi NCR the opening was very strong as many prime multiplexes opened to full houses. Pune and Bangalore also opened to excellent houses.

Mumbai city always has lower occupancies due to a huge number of multiplexes and screenings but even here Delhi Belly was strong with 70% at some properties. The first day total collections will be huge from Mumbai city.

Multiplexes in places like Rajasthan, CP, CI were lower at 40-45% but even that is good for this type of film. The single screen opening is also similar with the big city single screens opening well while other centres taking average opening. The first day will put up big numbers on strength of the big circuits like Mumbai, Delhi/UP and East Punjab with Mysore and West Bengal also collecting very strongly.

Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap had a poor opening at multiplexes of around 10-15%, the single screens were a bit better at around 20-25%.

The film will have to have a big turnaround to score at the box office but early reports are not encouraging.

The film has better chances at small centres but even here opening is too low and big jump is needed.

The film has low costs so should cover costs through non theatrical rights like Satellite and Home Video but will find it very tough to score theatrically at the box office.

Ready has emerged the first blockbuster of 2011 with amazing business on weekdays after a bumper weekend. The final figure for Tuesday came out at 6.75 crore nett approx and Wednesday again looks over 6 crore nett as per early estimates.

The business of Ready so far is around 62.50 crore nett and the week is likely to end at over 68 crore nett. The falls on the weekdays are just 10% daily with some circuits even less. There are places like West Bengal, Mysore and Tamil Nadu/Kerala which are not as strong as the rest but as the bigger circuits are so strong it does not make much difference to the overall picture. Delhi/UP is extraordinary as it heads for a week of 16 crore nett approx.

Ready may well cross the lifetime nett business of Ghajini by the end of its run. The distributor share of Ghajini will definitely be crossed as Ready is likely to finish with an all India distributor share of 60-65 crore.

This will make Ready the third biggest earner ever in terms of all India distributor share after Three Idiots and Dabangg. Also in the domestic market it will be the fourth biggest hit of Salman Khan’s career after Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Maine Pyaar Kiya and Dabangg. It is also the biggest hit of Anees Bazmee’s career as director beating some huge hits in the form of Welcome, No Entry and Singh Is Kinng.
